Katavi park - feel privileged by discovering this park in Katavi,
Tanzania.
Katavi park is the 3rd largest park
in Tanzania but is possibly the most remote park and yet it is a
major tourist attraction.
The reason of course for Katavi park
being so unknown is that it is so isolated in the west away from
kigoma. Which makes it a real privilege for us to have offices there.

The park has a similar climate to Ruaha
National Park but with a completely contrasting topography comprising
of a series of flood plains and fringed woodland that is teaming
with wildlife (many of which are not found in Ruaha eg.Topi). You
are surrounded by wildlife the moment you arrive! It therefore makes
the perfect combination with Ruaha.
The area under
National Park protection at Katavi has recently been doubled to
4000 sqkm so that it has superceded Mikumi as Tanzania's third largest
park. Yet while 120,000 people annually visit the northern parks,
less than 200 reach Katavi and you will feel privileged when you
look back through the visitors book to find the last person to have
been there.
